OUR SAVE ELECTRICITY GROUP THOUGHT OF MAKING A WAKE UP CALL TO THE STUDENTS ABOUT 350 .
OUR GROUP DREW 350 IN DIFFERENT WAY ON THE FLOOR OF OUR SCHOOL ENTRANCE.SO THAT THE STUDENTS WILL SEE THE NUMBER AND THINK WHAT IS 350? THEN THEY WILL READ WHAT IS DISPLAYED .
OUR PROJECT GROUP GAVE THE PAMPHLETS DEPICTING THE IMPORTANCE OF 350 TO THE TEACHERS .
A WAKEUP CALL
October 24 was the International Day of Climate Action. There have been a series of studies by a team of NASA climatologists headed by James Hansen. 350: That is the level by James Hansen
believes we need to reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere if we want to avoid a series of catastrophic climate tipping points.
The studies conclude that 350 parts per million (ppm) of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is a kind of ‘do-or-die’ number for Planet Earth.
Beyond 350 ppm, our very survival as Human Civilisation could be at stake..
Burning fossil fuels since the Industrial Revolution has resulted in unprecedented carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, causing global warming and climate change.
A Clean Energy Revolution that stops CO2 pollution is needed to curb global warming and stabilize the climate.
Hansen called for an immediate ban on new coal-fired power plants
Reduce the carbon emissions to 350 from its present 383 level.
Reduce carbon emissions
Reduce the usage of Coal-fired power plants.
Reduce the usage of electricity.
